Kaga De'Canette's fists tightened as the shuttle closed with the orbital dry
dock. Despite the inertial stabilization within the shuttle, there was still a sort of uneasiness when the
shuttle made it's decent. A feeling as if his stomachs had lurched into his chest. He smiled it off as
the pilot looked back at him curiously.
His eyes widened as the shuttled cleared the dry dock gantry and
superstructure to reveal his new flagship, the Gal'Vedect. And, oh what a beautiful sight she was.
The Gal'Ethon Dreadnaught was enormous, dwarfing the smaller construction
and supply vessels that tended to her. The gantry umbilicals that attached her to the orbital dock, large enough
for troops, munitions and other equipment seemed like twigs springing from a tree trunk.
The Gal'Evect could easily make out the twin nozzles of the
Dreadnaught's mighty dual spinal mounted mass driver. As the shuttle darted to the left of the ship, he made
out the starboard side turreted pulsar cannons. As they ascended over the ship's dorsal side, he noticed the
observation deck, behind and above the command tower, where he will spend a large portion of his career
on board her. Over the vessel, past the port pulsar turrets and around to the ventral shuttle bay, the shuttle made
it's way through the remaining construction drones who had finished and began departing.
"We're making final approach now, my Lord," the pilot reported smartly.
Kaga nodded, and then thought a moment.
"One more pass around her, pilot," Kaga responded.
"I'd like another look." |
